SUBFAMILY Natricinae - Water Snakes

Olive Marsh Snakes and co.

Natricinae although referred to as water snakes many are only semi-aquatic , terrestrial, burrowing or even semi-arboreal.  In our area at least they spend most of their time in the water, they are the Olive-Marsh Snake Natriciteres olivacea and the two big Water Snakes Grayia sp.
