Day 1

Depart from Watamu after breakfast and drive to Galana River. Arrive at Kulalu Tented Camp for coffee and refreshments before heading out on foot to explore the area. Return to the camp for lunch and a siesta. Once refreshed, head out again on foot as the day cools down. Return to the camp for showers and dinner before heading out in the vehicle with a spot light to look for some nocturnal species. Return to the camp for overnight.

Day 2

Early wake up to head out on foot along the river to try and catch some of those early sunbathing reptiles. Return to the camp for brunch before heading out in the Land cruiser to the hotter plains. Return to the camp for lunch and a siesta. Head out in the Land cruiser and drive up to explore the damns and surrounding areas. As the sun goes down we’ll make our way to a favorite sundowner spot for a cold drink and, if we’re lucky, a beautiful sunset! Head back to camp for dinner and overnight.

Puff Adder fangsA leisurely start to the day. We’ll have breakfast then pack up and just enjoy being by the river at the camp before loading up the Land cruiser and heading back to Watamu in time for lunch. 

Day 3

Early start once again as today we head into Tsavo East National Park. We’ll enjoy traditional game and bird watching in the park. We’ll find a nice place along the river to enjoy a picnic lunch before spending the afternoon heading back out of the park and make our way back to camp. Enjoy an evening at the camp with some possible scorpion spotting…a highlight of our safaris in the past!

Day 4

A leisurely start to the day. We’ll have breakfast then pack up and just enjoy being by the river at the camp before loading up the Land cruiser and heading back to Watamu in time for lunch.

The safari described above costs US$ 755 per person per night.

This includes: All transport in a modern and well equipped 4x4 VX Land Cruiser; Silver Level KPSGA Professional Safari Guide (Royjan Taylor) and his assistant spotter/handler; Full board accommodation at Kulalu Camp including all drinks; ADC fees while in the conservancy and National Park fees for Tsavo.

This does not include: Tips and gratuities, phone calls or any expenses of a personal nature.
